Every year, people throw away 300 million pairs of shoes in the United States alone. 95% of these will end up in landfills. Shoes are expensive and, for kids, they only last for a little over a year. Our project will try to solve all of these problems by making shoes more reusable and environmentally friendly. We will create shoes, inspired by the Shy Plant, that grow with the wearer through clever adjustable pieces.
