45% of rivers in South Kalimantan, including those in Balangan Regency, are polluted by coal mining waste (Greenpeace, 2014). This pollution lowers water pH, making it acidic and harmful to human health and the environment. Balangan struggles with clean water access due to limited community knowledge of water quality and measurement. Government efforts to address pollution are inadequate, and the mining industry must contribute to prevention and remediation. Schools play a crucial role through 'AKURAT,' a technology-driven solution providing informative and preventive measures. This initiative aims to enhance water awareness and improve the community’s quality of life.
