- Essential Question
- How can being wrongfully convicted affect the incarcerated mental health?
- Project Description
-
The research project can change the community due to it addressing the current laws around wrongful incarcerations. Laws being addressed helps identify the main causes of the incarcerations these laws don't address. For example, we researched databases such as the Innocence Project that showed us about what happens to individuals when their lives are disrupted. The project also addresses adding new laws that can help prevent wrongful convictions. New laws can change the community because people can become aware of how the legal system works. When understanding the legal system people can understand causes of what can lead to bias which can lead to wrongful incarceration. This can play a part in stopping wrongful convictions from happening in neighborhoods, and changing a community.
