- Project Description
-
The Wheels of Safety Project is an initiative aimed at reducing road traffic accidents, injuries, and loss of life through education, sensitization, and community engagement. Road crashes remain one of the leading causes of preventable deaths, largely due to unsafe road behavior, limited knowledge of traffic regulations, poor infrastructure, and low compliance with safety measures. Our project seeks to improve awareness among drivers, motorcycle riders, pedestrians, cyclists, and passengers by providing accurate information on traffic rules, road signs, speed management, alcohol and drug risks, seat-belt and helmet use, and pedestrian safety. Special attention will be given to vulnerable road users such as children, youth, the elderly, and people with disabilities. This project will use community outreach programs, school-based training, media campaigns, stakeholder collaboration, and practical demonstrations to promote responsible road use. By encouraging behavior change, strengthening community participation, and supporting enforcement efforts, the initiative aims to create safer roads and foster a culture of responsibility and respect among all road users.
Ultimately, the Road Safety Awareness Project contributes to improved public safety, reduced accident rates, and sustainable development by ensuring safer mobility for individuals, families, and communities.
