Smart Emergency Breather
Access to immediate breathing support is critical during medical emergencies, yet many areas of our country lack affordable and portable respiratory equipment. Smart Emergency Breather is a low-cost, portable oxygen support system designed to provide safe breathing assistance anytime and anywhere, especially outside hospital settings.
The system combines a lightweight oxygen mask with a compact ventilation mechanism that controls airflow using basic electronic components. Air or oxygen passes through filters and one-way valves, ensuring clean and regulated breathing support. The device is battery-operated, making it suitable for ambulances, rural clinics, disaster zones, and patient transport where electricity and advanced equipment may not be available.
This project follows a frugal innovation approach, using locally available materials and simple fabrication methods to keep costs low while maintaining safety and reliability. The modular design allows easy repair, replication, and future upgrades such as sensor-based monitoring.
