- Project Description

In Kenya, many students face wrong career placement or are locked out of opportunities due to poor grades. The education system has long emphasized the “Big Five” careers — Lawyer, Engineer, Doctor, Pilot, and Accountant — creating a perception that success depends solely on excelling in a few subjects like Mathematics. This has limited learners’ creativity and discouraged those whose strengths lie elsewhere.
Bora seeks to bridge this gap. It is an AI-powered career guidance application that helps learners make informed decisions based on their academic interests, talents, social skills, and personal preferences. Instead of focusing only on grades, Bora offers personalized career pathways that align with each learner’s unique strengths and potential.
By using artificial intelligence to analyze multiple data points, Bora connects students to emerging and traditional careers while providing clear roadmaps on how to excel in them. The goal is to empower learners to pursue fulfilling careers that match their abilities, not just their academic scores.
Ultimately, Bora aims to address unemployment, joblessness, and poverty caused by wrong career placement, redefining success for the 21st-century learner and ensuring that every student has an equal opportunity to thrive in a career that suits them.
